Well the bidding for this project is closed so I'll go ahead and post this. This was a quick portrait I did just to give a taste in my bid on the project. Details are a little off (nose shape and glasses) , could use some more shading ,but as I said, quick. Maybe a couple hours in this.
The subject started the national black theater foundation. 3'x4' and mostly done with an HF mini spray gun on markerboard with testors aztek paint.

Thank you! I often do this when bidding a project. It has scored me a few just due to people being able to really visualize the thing and probably lost me some due to people thinking it is what the actual work would look like .
I went a little warmer on his coloring than if i were shooting for photorealism, but I think it gives it a nice "mood" Idk what do you guys think?

Seems to help most when there arent a lot of people who do the exact type of thing they are looking for. I've won bids over better artists because while their body of work was fantasic, it didn't show that they were capable of the exact thing being asked for.

Haha, half way through, before I added the hair you would have sworn it was going to be M.C. Hammer, I think just because of the obviously '90s shirt and the gold rim glasses.

You know I like this piece already. And do my taste the kind of Hyper Real take on things really works. So I like that the clothing has some more pop to it.

Thanks Siroxx. Yeah I figure if they wanted a photo they could just have it printed.

You know, I might have to try grinding a point into the needle of one these HF mini spray guns. I think if the needle protruded I may actually be able to get close to airbrush performance out of it, it's pretty close anyhow for a .6 nozzle. If it screws it up im out $11. I don't think it will go all the way there, the face of the nozzles are too flat. Idk something to play with. I guess if i really wanted to I could give the nozzle a cone and then hard solder the aircap and reem a smaller hole but I don't think I'll take it that far.

Haha, I’ve seen you say “You know, I could...” before and this sounds as interesting as the previous times.

    LOL
I'm gonna call this experiment a fail. While it did make my pinpoint smaller, I only lowered the angle on the needle enough to make it stick out 1.2mm
Which was enough make air and paint start almost simultaneously. So even with the slight adjustment keeping air going but triggering on a pass is no longer an option on this gun. You can but it's super close. Not worth doing.

Not every experiment is going to be a winner, that’s why it needs somebody to try. At least we know lol.
