    You seem to grasp some pretty complex subjects and reach complicated conclusions to me. Of course I have no Idea if anything in that post was really correct.

    I agree, I am new to the Waterbased paints we use for the airbrush but prior to me receiving my paint I used standard base paints from our Automotive supplier with Grade A thinners. Only thing that I am worried about is the rubber seals inside the airbrush, wont that corrode with just thinners? I painted on normal copier paper and somer 250gr paper I bought at our local PNA, dont have a clue the different paper base and base plates etc etc that everyone is taking about, I do use normal artist canvas as well, that I treat with Gesso and sand for a smooth finish. My challenge is when I do the Tanks, tale peace, mud guards and side panels of the bikes, only thing I can use then for now that is affordable is base paints reduced with Grade A thinners.

    You’re right to be careful. Solvents can effect rubber O rings. Lots of brushes like Iwata have Teflon inside so that they’re safe to use. I don’t know if this is standard across all airbrushes, but I’d doubt it.

    I was checking seal price few days ago and they are dirt cheap. If they don't get damaged in one session lol
    So my question would be, how long would seal last if someone uses solvents which are not recomended for an airbrush which doesn't have Teflon seals.

    I am just brainstorming. If they last one month you get lets say 5 or 10 bucks / per month for seals. But if they last 3 months you get 1 or 3 bucks / per month.

    Does it sound weird what I am thinking? -.-

    Not really, I believe its basically what they did with the older Iwatas when shooting auto paint. The rubber is a solvent resistant grade of rubber.
    Though I doubt it's quite as high grade as chemraz or kalrez.
    I have no idea how long they would last, I guess it depends on the manufacturer. Could be hours, could be months. Lots of grades of rubber.

    Brushes with teflon needle seals are perfectly fine. Which are most brushes these days. On brushes like my ps-270 with the removable head there is a rubber head oring ,however paint/solvent contact with it is very minimal. The rubbers are a solvent resistant grade of rubber also. That seal is likely to last through years and years of solvent use.
    Personally I wouldnt hesitate to use base paint and thinner through either of my brushes. In fact I Havent gotten to use wicked on a lot of automotive surfaces, but I have used a lot of 1k basepaint and have a feeling i'll end up preferring it for airbrush as I have preferred it for everything else in the past. I already prefer the way Aztek acts over wicked and it acts much more like a 1k basepaint. Both have teflon needle seals. I'm not well versed in all of the available brushes but I know just about any brush from one of these brands bought today will have teflon. Badger,Iwata,H+S,paasche, mr. Hobby,point zero,master,
    I'm pretty sure anymore, using 1ks in an airbrush is no different then using 1ks in an auto spraygun, same materials IME

    This is a little of topic, but I guess it can't derail thread much.
    I am checking what colors I will order soon in the future.
    Here is my dillema.

    wicked 60ml= 8.13 Eur = 16x8.13=130.08 Eur to get 960ml
    240ml=21.64 Eur
    480ml=36.98 Eur
    960ml=59.83 Eur = 16x60ml bottles

    I was looking at Wicked opague white. Any coins in buying bigger bottles?

    second question: It's only 1 Eur, but do I need it? I mean I feel like I get all info from you guys. Not to mention I would need to hook up dvd room. I have it lying around somewhere lol

    I believe thats the same as the application guides they have on the website.

    Its pretty common to buy a large bottle of black and white, especially white.

    I suspect you'll get something along these lines.
    "Sorry for the late response. We make every effort to ensure the quality of consistency of our products and if you do happen to get a bottle that isnt up to standard let us know, we will do our best to correct the situation"
    Which is one good thing, Ive seen several people get some bad paint and say createx sent them new paint set right away

    LOL
    Well, you have to consider this too.
    Wicked color 2oz= $5
    Aztek 20z (which is pre reduced so its half the paint) =$5
    Golden High flow 1oz= $10
    House of kolor 4oz (prereduced so its roughly equal to a bottle of wicked)=$30
    PPG waterborne basecoat 8oz= $350

    If your looking at pricing, wicked/auto-air IS the apple barrel 50 cent el cheapo paint of the automotive/airbrush art world so i kind of expected it
    The only cheaper stuff I know of is US Art supply

    Aside from perhaps jacquard. They are pretty awesome for every fabric item ive tried from them and their reputation is amazing among people that do dyes and such.
