16x20in canvas. This is the first stage...
I’m curious of this progress
It’s already good looking!
I’m always struggling with things like the clouds, grass or water ...
My brain doesn’t cope too well with such subjects
I love the texture on the canvas.
Yes, amazing texture, looking forward to this...
Nice beginnings Z! And, I love the colors already.
Thanks guys and gals. Appreciate the good thoughts...
So... since I was given complete creative freedom on this project I decided to try something out for the first time... I mixed some traditional acrylics, phtallo blue and burnt umber, to create a dark color, an almost black. Then I used a palette knife to paint the fence:
And the horse:
I must say, I am digging the textures that it created.... I still need a young one on the middle and it should be done...
You've got the palette knife technique down pat, @Zotilraxx. Haven't used that since I was about 12 years old, but it works. Good Job!
Palette knife? How does that work?
It's essentially a very flexible metal spatula and it's like painting with butter, you smear the paint onto the canvas...
Looking very cool man! The textures look really cool plus you did a really good job with the sky and sun colors and the clouds, really well done.
P.s. I got that same electric eraser!!!
Oh ok I've seen videos on people doing that.
Its the Bob Ross method. Happy little fence, happy little horse, happy little cloud!
It's looking pretty nice!
It's a good eraser, eh?
There's no mistakes, only happy little accidents...
Well, I have reached where I need to be. I will let it set for a few days and look at it with fresh eyes...
Beautiful! Fantastic simply impressive!

Bravo! It's a quiet absorbing work. It just seems to draw you into that field the more you look at it. Truly awesome.
