The eye tutorial, 2nd attempt

Always use a reference, its to easy for your brain to take over and try and get you to paint what it thinks is there.
If there’s one tip i’d give it would be to not paint lines. (Hair and eyelashes are the exception)
You need to paint shadows & blends and the ‘lines’ will appear themselves.
You’ve gone to dark to quick, that is easily remedied by reducing the pigment load of your paint by either reducer or transparent base, and build the colour up slowly.

I’d be confident to say ALL of us with no art background went to dark to early, even those of us who knew we shouldn’t, did it. AND drew lines where there were none, but the reference picture suggested there might be.

So I’d say you’re right on track. We expect a full colour one next year :D
 
Thanks, I always enjoy my time with airbrushing. Lots of different projects goin on. You all are always helpful. Its a great way to unwind. My color work gets crazy at times, I dunno Ricky...I still use those owl mixes a bit.
