it has been years since I painted a tiger but when I saw a ref photo a new member posted I knew I would have a go at that ref :)
I started with etac efx sepia to map out the basic stripe shapes and I used a home made gray to map out the shading in the snow

@beginner-James the size is 40x60 cm the substrate is schoellershammer 4G paper
@Jimmyfingerz I am using only the colors Etac provides , sepia will look near black when it reaches max saturation and it wont give me any colorshift when I start with "orange"

I should be working on rebuilding our old bathroom but it is warm and I really hate removing the old tiles from the walls so I worked a bit more on this tiger , I added a little color in this case etac efx brown ocher and I switched to paynes grey for "white fur"

I saw that reference once ago, and I didn’t dare to even think about it, lol ;)
The snow thing scares me off still ;)
Good start and the progress Ronald.
I’m curious to follow next updates, as the art must look awesome when finished ;)

a dead line to finish the bathroom means little time for painting but the hot weather gave me the perfect excuse not to work on the bathroom so I could work on the tiger a bit more
