I actually thought of a way I think I can make a real wheel work ok today too without making it 3d. It will require some more experiments so... I'll continue that thread soon.

I had a break from my thread also so I don't lose motivation. Planning to make it till finish, but I ain't gonna lose my mind over it. I rather do stuff when I fell like it and finish it.

I didn't realize how much time those cards take when I started, but damn, those color stuff aren't fast. At least I have good base now, so I can expand my color system more in the sense I am and will use my colors. Browns were crap to spray...

I'm sure you also are improving your mixing on the fly ability as you go too.

well, the question I am asking myself right now is, can I make wicked detail from *edit:semi*opague. Is wicked detail mixed with transparent base or is the process for making wicked color on some other level. I know I can mix transparent color from semi opague, but what is the real difference between semi and detail.

    As i understand it no.
Detail and CI have the finer pigment grind. Detail has the multi-surface base though like wicked.
So...adding 4004 to CI would be close to detail.

Cant find it at the moment but I think i remember seeing a document somehwere that gave the grind size and listed detail and CI as the same grind ... I think

Yeah I've looked at those too... Problem is theyve reworked the formulas several times in the past years so plus even createx will say seemingly contradicting things about their lines depending on what you're looking at so idk everytime i think i have it worked out something makes me think again.

Either way, I see no point in the detail line......bc

    Createx says
Wicked Colors are transparent with a high pigment-volume, so they cover semi-opaque out-of-the bottle and may be over-reduced to create very transparent colors for detailed artwork.

Compared to regular Wicked Colors, Wicked Detail Colors are more transparent colors out of the bottle and a less viscous. (sooo trans base and reducer)

And you can use CI for hard surface with 4030 and it shares the color lineup of detail for the most part.

    and
    https://createxcolors.com/pdf/CreatexIllustrationColors.pdf

    so to me
, wicked and CI cover all purposes so what do i need w detail? especially if the grind is finer on CI and detail.

and now there is CI opaque which is made to cover out of the bottle sooo that contradicts the pdf there where it says they werent designed to cover like the others.

Well I know I am new to the game. But my logic goes something like this. It can sound very weird probably :D

They have pigments. And they add pigments to different mediums just to get more different lines of colors. That is my guess. And if they wanna make more transparent color they add transparent medium or some crap like that. Maybe they just over reduce so paint can flow better. And then it also got ''transparency'' cause you need to spray more layers to get full coverage. But that is just my logic. Pigments on their site are by standard if I am correct. So if you really wanna color match you should work with pigments directly if I understand it. But I am writing here stuff I didn't even try yet. I still have unopened detail burnt sienna which someone recommended me few months ago when I asked for what color should I buy lol

Im leaning that way as well, just different combos of the same damn pigments w different mediums/combos of mediums and amounts of water.
