Well, first time ever attempting a masked job of any sort. It came out ok. Couple issues here and there. I'm not 100% happy with it, but good learning experience. Flames have a slight edge to them. I was trying for ghost flames, but I got a little heavy handed.

I still can't leave things be...the base coats were giving me issues. I' d find a speck, so I would fix it, then I'd find a cat hair or something, then fix that..went on and on...instead of leaving well enough alone, I tend to open up various cans of worms lol.

The silver looks purple under the right light.

All paints/primers/clears were Createx Wicked, Pearls, Top Gloss Coat, and Candy2o.

Started with Badger 155, but the bottles started giving me issues after that silver base coat.

Everything after was with Iwata Revo Cr @30-50psi.

    Will post more when complete.

I love the hand built chassis and the paint job looks cool too. I really get a kick out of your cars and paint jobs, so thanks for sharing Bud. You’re doing great!

Well it appears to have at least a 3 inch chop (if it was full scale.) but ya did channel it which would have shaved off more weight LOL.
But it does make it a great looking Drag car

I love this style of hotrod. There’s nothing quite like it as far as cars go. The 50’s, 60’s and some 70’s American cars just rock! When you get them sitting low and sounding mean, that’s the best!

Im into bikes too. My current bike needs a ton of work to put it back on the road. 2009 hd dyna. There is a 07 Triumph Thruxton I kinda have my eye on...but I honestly dont ride much anymore. Love them old BSA's too.

Was gonna buy an old Trident as my first years ago, but ended up with a hd sportster.

Sill need to wire a motor for it, but it's pretty much done. The magnets work brilliantly, and last night at the track we came up w a solution for no body pins at all for future builds. 2019-08-23_11-13-10.jpg 2019-08-23_11-13-21.jpg 2019-08-23_11-13-28.jpg

I'm starting a Dukes of Hazzard General Lee tonight. 69 Charger body. It's the lightest one I've ever had come out of the box. Going to use a lighter smaller diameter tubing for the chassis and maybe drop a tuned $30 motor in it.

As for motors, you can spend $12-$500. I like the ones in the $20-$30 range, add $4 of "tuning" parts, and they rip.

Great stuff, I do like the way you build the chassis yourself and pretty much do everything. The body came out pretty good but like you said you went a bit heavy and you have a slight edge. Not to worry, just do a bit more practice experimenting with light coats and you will suss out how to do the ghost flames or any flames a little more effectively. Still a great job though.
