I was curious whether lids for other paint cups might fit my Iwata hp-b.

The Tamiya Superfine has a smaller paint cup lid. Also the 7 ml side cup for a hp-sb has a lid with a smaller diameter than a C cup. Unfortunately I don’t own any of these to test out.

I’ve seen homemade lids but would prefer an actual existing lid if anyone knows of one that fits.

I can check in an hour or so if you don’t get an answer before hand :)

No the side cup lids don’t fit, I doubt you’ll find one that will. I should have realized before I checked but the top of the B+ version cup rolls inward and there’s a cut out on the trigger side.
I did also check my H&S infinity lid and that won’t fit either.

Why are you after a lid ?

Darn. Thanks for checking it out. I may figure something out. I saw the cup lid on a superfine and just wondering if smaller cups could have lids. My hp-b is my only brush without a lid.

How rough do you work that you need lids? Maybe go to a hardware store and look for some plugs.

I have found hardware store plugs for my hp-BCS cups in the past. I think I will keep my eyes open for another option.. I tilt my hand sometimes when I daydream :)

Maybe an Airtex or Neo cup lid...

It's my understanding that Neo lids are the same as H&S lids... so if one don't work the other one won't either.

Well that’s interesting !! That HP-B+ cup looks very different to mine!

Isnt the one in the video a hi-line ?

Aha! Yours is the B not the B+. Be careful buying spares, there is a difference in needles I know that from experience. (The B needle doesn’t fit the B Plus :) )

Curiously the airbrush in the video has HP - B Plus stamped on it but the box has the instruction manual for the HP-AH, BH & CH. which is the Hi-line series.

Ok, I’m officially an idiot lol,
It would appear I grabbed the CM-B+ instead of the HP-B+ !!!!!

The B+ cup does NOT have the cut out in the cup. But the side cup lids still do not fit, way to big.

It seems that super sexy looking Tamiya airbrush has been discontinued... *sigh*

Neat trick to use a dime for a lid!

So why didn’t you say something !
I’ll blame it on disruption to my normal routine- real life has sucked so far this year but I’m hopefully back on track next week
