    Hi ... ;)
    You know what?
Franc has started his yellow beauty ;)
    James his fluffy eagle ...
    I’m willing to !
    Hahahaaa ;)
Let’s do my first ever -> bird challenge ;)

I’ve covered the main subject, and the front branch to start spraying evenly the background.
Once I’m happy with it,I’ll move on to the “front” ;)
I hope I’ll manage to get it done, lol ;)

    Beware of WET PAINT ;)
    Hahahaaa ;)
I’m not so sure what’s suppose to come first - the subject then the background, or as I like ;)
I prefer the background goes first, because I wouldn’t like to mask the finished bird with the tape ...
    I hope it’s ok ;)

I'm not sure there is a rule... I've gone both ways... It was interesting watching Musicmacd doing the picture the other day... he put the last bit of the background in last (as opposed to first) and it really made the image pop. I guess it would depend on how much the background will affect the actual image itself. Good thing is you can always go back in a adjust the background.

I think everyone has his / her own way of approaching it. I haven’t figured it out yet myself. Only practice will lead to the “right” MO.

I’m still on the learning curve as you know.
I’ll be happy as long as that curve goes up, not down ;)
    Cheers ;)

    Quick update.
    I’m done with the background.
I’ve moved on to the top branch sticks, trying to build up the texture...

Funny is - you won’t see what I can see ;)
The camera simply can’t pick up the exact subtle and smooth colours of soft blue,mauve,violet...
Instead of what I can see, you will see harsh, not blended nicely background ...?
Just try to imagine that the white harsh areas you see - it’s softly blended light blue ;)

Please let me carry on those quick updates this way,and then at the final I’ll do the same thing,I did with the tiger ;)
I’ll take the final photo with correct light conditions to show you closest match to the original.

Don’t worry about the photo quality. We must all have that problem. I am taking pictures with the iPhone but they’re never sharp enough or reflect the true color values. That’s why an original physical art piece can’t be beaten!

I’m using iPhone as well Franc ;)
But my work desk is next to the window, and then the light bulb is always on too ...
I’ve found the camera’s picking up the darkest colours - and making their appearances even darker, then the lighter colours - opposite?
It seems the camera struggles with all those middle tones, so the blends between the shifts are missing, and in case of my background, you can see light white areas separated by dark areas, lol ;)
I don’t like that photo above, but I know it looks nice on my board ;)
Anyway, I’m thinking to put some more light blue colour yet over the lightest areas...
I’ll decide this afternoon after work...
At this point,I’m trying to figure out whether I can improve that background even more, or Imight ruin it - if it will be just too much too intense colours over...
You might don’t be after the background at all Franc ;)
I hope you’ll enjoy the bird itself at least ;)
    - Obviously if I manage to paint it nicely ;)
At the moment I’m more focused on the background than on the main subject hahahaaa ;)

    Cheers for keen comment Lee.
I’m confused a bit, when enough is enough ...
I’m considering to adjust the lightest blue a bit more yet...
Will decide this afternoon whether go for it or not ;)
