My next project... I am trying to get this done for an Art Educator's Art Show taking place in the town that I teach. The show is in 3 weeks and I am not all together confident that I will be able to finish it in time. Thought that I would share my progress here. This is really the first painting that I have attempted with 90% of the detail work being done with an airbrush. I usually use a hairy brush for the details. Going out of my comfort zone for this one. I find my control to be getting better but still not where I want it to be. Practice Practice Practice.
In my humble opinion cars are way easier than animals, no hair, fur, or feathers. It just takes many many layers of transparent paint to build up the colors and get them to actually look deep. But, you all know that already.
It looks great, the chrome on the headlamp is excellent, as is the rest at this stage. Keep at it, you will do fine even if your out of your comfort zone. Lee
As Lee said, the Chrome on that headlamp is amazing. Really looking forward to see how this one pads out.
Nope, I don't . Perhaps someday I will learn and paint awesome pictures of ocean liners and racecars! But for now I just gaze at the beautiful works on here and buy airbrushes when I can afford them
Had a little time this weekend to do a little more work. I get to the point that I am really excited about working on it and I run out of time. Ahh to be independently wealthy and not have to go to work. I am going to tackle the grill next and am terrified.
Go pick up a mini roller and some Hammerite and pop it on your bonnet and work your way around the rest. Wash out your roller after as it will go solid .
