Hi folks! First of all, a friend ask me to paint flames on his melmet... and I wil use Auto-Air and Wicked paint....

The question is ... I have to apply a base coat or the auto air sealer on a firefighter helmet before paint it ? It's made of a kind of hard plastic, can I juste sand it?

If you sand it down, i'd use a pimer for sure and then apply basecolour. Your going to clearcoat it after wokr is done, don'you?

Yeah! I want it shiiiiinyyyy ! :)

And for "security freaks", don't worry, this helmet is just a souvenir from his ff course! He don't use it again when fighting fire :p

I use auto air sealer on most of my helmets and it works very well.
A quick wash, dry, scuff with 400grit to remove all the shine, wash, dry and then AutoAir Sealer means your ready for business.
