Hey everybody. I’ve been having a go with some new kit. Flaked an aluminium panel with the Flake King 500 and used some of the 6 Pack O’ Skullz for the image. I’m pleased how the candy came out as it’s the first time I’ve put any through a spray gun.
I had some help from my nephew when I was wet sanding the clear coat over the flake, even if he spent more time shooting water at me than the panel lol.
Also used a new Mini Gun. It’s the Air Gunza AZ4 Junior, basically their new LV/LP Gun. It seems to be pretty efficient as it runs nicely from my compressor.
There’s no clear coat yet as I ran out of time.

    Thanks for looking.

Thank you Vlad, I appreciate it. The new gun isn’t carbon bodied it has a coating on it that feels almost like thin rubber, only it doesn’t react to Solvent thinners. It gives the gun a nice non slip feel. I’m not sure how long it will last as it does seem thin, but I guess I will find out. It was £130, so it’s a good price for a nice quality gun.

    Good to know!

What's the size of the full open fan pattern? And how could you describe droplet size compared to your other gun, ANI as I remember?

Good memory Sir. Yes the other is the ANI R150. The fan on the AZ4 is maybe an inch or so larger the same distance from the work. About 7 inch for the AZ4. It also seems happiest around half the pressure of the ANI. In terms of droplet size, it’s a bit early to tell as I only put a couple coats of Intercoat over the finished panel. The candy was put on with the ANI and really laid down very nicely, 70% overlap and there were no streaks or blotchy patches. I kept the fluid adjuster only 1.5 turns out, so there was a high air to paint ratio. Both guns seem to atomise the paints pretty small.
I intend to use the AZ4 for the final clear coat, so I think I’ll have a better comparison from that.

Would be great to see the panel shining in all its glory!:)
I wonder what you'll say after.

Man, you must grab someone with his bike, pull out all the tins and make them custom painted! Will say it for 1001th time, enough tries for you, you're ready for serious work. Look around, people earn from works that are far from yours even at this stage. Get finally confident of your paint works or smth!:)

Smells like it's going to be somekind of the gun for moto size parts (helmets and tins etc). Will keep in mind the models when thinking over buying another gun for myself.
I wonder how these both guns are compared to W-101. Maybe someone reading this post could compare.

. Thank you my friend, I really appreciate the encouragement very much. I have a couple ideas that I’m going to try very soon, which does involve a motorcycle tank, also some practice in areas I haven’t really tackled like flesh tones and more portrait type stuff. Not photo realism, but the stylised automotive version.
It would be good to know how they compare to the W-101 for sure. Hopefully somebody can say.

The encouragement? It was cold blooded observation. You can take it as friend's asskick:D I hope I've said nothing abusive (sometimes my strait translation on the fly into English is considered that way, so I'm sorry if smth. Correct me to say it properly and correct).

You must do that! When? Next week?:)

    Would be great.
I've got W-101 and there are tons of its variations being sold here, maybe all the models available in Japan. I haven't seen such an amount of models nowhere. So feedback is much appreciated.
BTW, 101 is of the range of your guns, I think. Fan size, gun size, only the price maybe a bit higher, but not a big deal.

Haha, I totally took it as a friendly asskick lol. And there’s no problem with that at all my friend.
I should have time next week or possibly the week after but I think it’ll be soon. I’m looking through some references now. Some of the work from Cory Saint Clair is the kind of reference I’m looking for.
I just had a look at the spec of the W101 and it looks like it uses less air than either of my guns but other than that the specs look very similar.

I don't recall you've shown your works with the skin tones. It's challenging for being done the first times. Good luck!
Mind the colour wheel in mind!;)
I wonder what you'll come up with.

There's also LPH-101;) With low consumption. Only downside of it is higher price than W. When I get incomes from custom painting, I'll buy it, it's gonna be PAD (like AAD):D

I haven’t done anything with Skin tones yet as I’ve always been a bit intimidated by it. But it on the “to do” list for sure. I think I want to try a monochromatic portrait type thing next.

That’s the trick Buddy. If you can get it paid for by painting, that’s a win for sure.
