Head O-Ring

I need to replace the Packing Fluid Head O-Ring ( swelling ) on my Micron SB and would like some info on how to remove old and install new.

I use a small 90 degree dental pick to remover the old one, I rounded the sharp point so I would not scratch where the o-ring sits. But I found hooking it from the back side and pulling it outward was easier .
Some use a tooth pick .
