My name is Brian and I'm based in the UK.
I've recently bought my first airbrush (Badger Renegade Krome) so that I can paint military models and wargaming terrain etc. I have little in the way of traditional artistic talent (hence the name!) being as I am an engineer by trade. You can expect some pretty basic questions over the next few weeks!
I decided to buy a decent priced brush but run off canned gas until I can afford a decent compressor but my local model shop sold be the wrong parts at first (I got the brush, a braided hose for a compressor and a large gas canister - but no regulator!). Those initial hiccups have been sorted (they provided a regulator and nylon hose) and will hopefully tide me over until I can get the compressor.
I've just spent this weekend playing with the brush but didn't have a lot of success
...... bubbling in the paint hopper was so bad it blew all the paint out the top!
After watching some good videos on the internet about how to solve this (usually dirt in the brush eh?) turns out that after disassembling my new brush, there was a critical component missing - The brush had no tip! - It was pretty easy to understand they why this blowback was happening.
I suspect that whilst in the shop the brush had been used for demo or display purposes (or even returned by a previous customer) as I seriously doubt a brush would be shipped with such a critical part missing.
I've been looking online for replacements but numbering is a little confusing to be at the moment (all part of the learning curve), however I'm hoping to get back the the shop shortly to explain the problem and see if they have the required missing piece from amongst the spare parts they sell.
