Hello everyone. I'm a 54 year old guy from southern Maine and am new to airbrushing. I want to learn so I can paint my motorcycle myself and not spend thousands of dollars. I have painted and drawn for years and it seems that airbrushing opens up a whole field of unique art.
I'll be here a whole bunch. I do know how to use the search function but may ask a foolish question at times. Please be patient.
This seems to be one of the most organized airbrush site I have visited and look forward to all advice and suggestions.

Welcome to the forum from a 40 year old from southern NH.

I started airbrushing to learn to paint my bike. Seems to be a common reason to start

Hello Nexxus and welcome...the only foolish question is the one you don't ask!!

Welcome from the panhandle of Florida from a 50 y/o. It's a challenging art form but with Mitch's tutorials and the great member advice you will soon become addicted! Plenty of free advice and the best forum available. Welcome and have fun.

Hi Nexxus, from the uk! I have friends in Maine (Detroit), and have been lucky enough to see quite a bit of your beautiful state, and it's awesome coastline. The signs for Moose are quite annoying though, as I kept seeing them, but never any moose, and I really want to see some.

Welcome from Canada Nexxus :)

We have plenty of Moose up here in Canada also, and take it from me you really wouldn't want to see one run up on the highway right in front of your car :)

I think they are avoiding me, I've been to Canada a couple of times to (British Columbia, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia) and the signs there all lie too. I'm sure they are pretty scary up close, but I just want to see one. I've been lucky enough to see bears, wolves, coyotes, beavers, various eagles and deer, whales, dolphins porpoise, seals, chipmunks, bats, snakes in the wild, among other things that Canada is famous for, but I got a thing about moose and really want to see one.

I don't think there actively avoiding you :) (I'd have to check on the moose network to be sure no directives were issued to that effect).

They are quite shy actually and prefer to stay out of the open, most of the ones I've seen were (far away) deep in the woods around lakes where I'd go fishing (also deep in the woods). When they come out of the woods it is mostly to escape the insects when they get too bad. I got a close call in New Brunswick when a yearling came running out of the woods intent on crossing the highway, lucky for us there was a big truck right in front of us, and it passed in front of the moose just as it got to the highway. Scared the hell out of the little bugger who did a 180 and ran back in the woods, might be a while before it decides to cross the highway again :)
