How is everyone ? well I'm Tryston and I'm 43 :) i have been drawing and painting for years on and off :) when i was a lot younger i used to paint miniatures for BloodBowl and model kit's of planes and army gear.
I have recently been able to set up a very small studio ( mid-life crisis lol the wife say's ) and after watching a few video's on youtube really fancy another string to my bow so to say. I have been able to get a little compressor :) free :) and have a airbrush and bit's on their way from amazon.
I would like to learn how to airbrush the right way so it seemed fitting to join a forum and have a chat :) make new friends and hopefully get some great advice along the way.
I also am heavily into my music :) metal head :) from classic rock upto doom :)

Hello and welcome from PA Tryston, you definitely came to the right place. There is a multitude of talent and experience here from beginner to seasoned veteran, and all are eager to share, or give opinion, or tech help to all of us. Welcome along tryston and thanks for the great intro, did you decide on a branded airbrush straight out of the box our did you do what i (and most others do) and get a cheapy chinese jobby, either way out wil spot what too need out for whilst learning the basics......get right on to your practice of dots lines and daggers, then maybe try the eye tutorial......most important though, remember to thin your paint til its consistency of milk......that should be enough to get you started, don't want to bombard you with too much info..any questions just ask bro

Well thanks for the welcome guy's :) I have been watching the youtube videos from airbrushtutor :) how to control your airbrush and I have picked up a few things so I have a few roll's of wallpaper lining paper :) so it looks like dot's and lines till I have that mastered lol and answer to which airbrush I have got yes a cheap chinese one I think (16 pound uk) and Createx ( spelling right I hope) black and once I have got somewhere near I will invest in a better on, cheers for the advice and I will post pic's of my practice :)

Welcome aboard Tryston, you seem to be off on the correct path my friend, and as fezley wezzley stated just ask....but do try using the search bar first as its likely that any questions have already been answered:). Also if you fancy a little trip south bound at the end of this month, Mitch(abtutor) and moi his glamorous assistant...ok..ok fez I'm not quite as glamorous as you! We will be at the KKBO show in Spalding with our own stand, so come along and chat to the man himself:)

Cheers :) I have been reading my way around at quite a few olderposts and enjoying and picking up a few things i never knew :) There are so many so I'm taking a bit to read them :) and I am holiday the same time as KKBO :( but on hol's :)

Exactly, the chinese brush will spray paint, not amazingly but it wil get you started, done people may find the whole airbrush thing just didn't do it for them, so...like you...is cool not to have invested to much money on loads of different paint, a quality brush and super expensive silent compressor etc etc etc..... As you say, post up pics off practice and we will be of any help we can....good luck on your quest!

Welcome to the forum, have a good practise and you will soon have the airbrush mastered,

Lee

Hi Tryston, welcome from another Brit. You already took the best biggest airbrushing step by joining this forum, all the help you'll ever need right here!

Hi and welcome to the friendliest form around.

I'm sure you will get all the help and chat as much as you like

Welcome mate,
I'm another noob. Purchased all the cheap crap. Found I liked it, the cheap stuff however caused more hassle than good times. Because I decided I wanted to make a go of this and stick around these guys pointed me in the right direction and I have invested in some quality equipment. I'm sure if you think it's for you you'll do the same.
You said you used to paint so you probably know your stuff. Did you purchase some creatix reducer with your black? Just checking as without this lot helping me out with reduction issues I would have thrown in the towel.
Reduce, Reduce, Reduce

Any way, welcome mate. Another Brit! We are taking over :)

I've decided not to have my midlife crisis til I'm 60, that way I get to live to a 120. Not sure what form it will take yet, I already ride bikes, drink, have taken up hobbies, behave like I'm 18 when I should know better. Actually I've always done that, so maybe I had my midlife crisis years ago. How am I still alive?
