My wife likes the pictures I paint,Shes not to happy about the time I spend on the Muskie lures I get paid to paint for people go figure? (Thinks it won't pay off,but keeps me in paint and gas to go Fishing:D:D) Maybe that's what she's not happy about:whistling:;).

My wife is super supportive. She does roll her eyes when I buy more and more guns but don't mind me spending time in the studio and seeing the results. It is a bonus that we never wanted children so I never have to split my time and/or neglect either part. She was also quick te respond to the garage being turned into my studio when we moved house.

This one hits home, had a conversation with the gf over dinner where she let it be known that she doesn't think my airbrush business is a good idea, can't help to feel a bit disheartened, especially if I'm already doubting myself.

One thing I've learned is if you're waiting for encouragement or a pat on the back you'll be waiting a long time, after sitting in my shop thinking about it I started to feel determined, after all she really doesn't know what I'm trying to do(as I'm figure it out). I'm lucky that I still have a business that I've downsized but can get the bills payed in a job or two a week, if I have to suffer painting tubs and counters part time for the next year or two to make my plan happen, so be it.

As for ABing in general I think it's a great hobby, if you have fun doing it then don't let anyone ruin it for you, and encourage them to get a hobby too:thumbsup:

Was that in a "realistically grounded" way or a "your airbrushing is dumb" kinda way?

Hmm, it would be a good strategy to act like you were...then you could always keep stepping it up. You know under promise and over deliver :)

Lol I certainly have no trouble earning brownie points! But it causes problems when she wants to spend thousands on a mechanic or a carpenter. My current challenge is fixing a dishwasher and sadly this one is kinda stumping me...

lol, the secret to a successful relationship, two little words.... ' Yes dear'

I money is tight then I can understand a little push back. But the way we say something can be more powerful/hurtful that what the words actually are.

'Are you really going to do that !'

Oh we have knock down drag out fights over whether I'm gonna fix something or if a pro is gonna do it. She is learning to have faith in my abilities, and I do love the amazement in her eyes when I accomplish something!

Most can do basic stuff if they bother to try, as always it pays to know your limitations lol

I tell her to get a job and save up her money to pay for it ;)

I'm one of those fortunate people who can figure out whether or not I can do something before wasting thousands of dollars screwing it up :) It is a skill that has served me well over the years!

My dad is one of those annoying people who can look like an expert on his first try. I have more desire than ability but things usually work once I put them back together!
