Double Actioner
Getting back into this after many years of being out of it is a lot of fun. I have been raising money for a non profit organization that I volunteer for and been painting a few shirts for them. Plus one for me! lol

Nice to see you doing something after your absence and for a worthy cause too :)
Hopefully we will see more from you now you have rediscovered your airbrush

ok bogie, now you got me interested :)

what paints, how much PSI, how do you heat set them on fabric (if you use heat press how many seconds and how much temp.)? I made bunch of tests, still planning to open thread with my results to share with forum. Just didn't have the time to do it. :whistling:

Most of these paints are just the Createx Colors. The skull face one has Etac,Createx, Spectratex, and Aqua Flow on it. I ran about 60psi, and I do not have a shirt press yet so I am using parchment paper and an iron! Honestly, I do not think you can go wrong with any of the major paint companies for tees. I am however thinking its just easier for me to stick with the Createx Colors. I am using mostly Paasche Vls and a couple of Iwata Eclipses.

Unfortunately I am not at home, but i should be in few days. My tests were done with createx paints, parchment paper, iron, heat press and different times of heat setting and different temperature settings and also different PSI settings. I washed my test tshirts bunch of times to see results. Iron test tshirt was a no go. Also, interesting fact, there were no difference betwen 30 or 60 psi if we talk about washability.

Fun fact,: i seen videos about heat setting, but their settings were flop as well when i tried them.

My tests were done on Gildan premium and Fruit of the loom premium tshirts,

First and foremost nice work Bogie, those turned out well! Painting shirts is a blast, I used to do a ton for our schools for the grade school kids when they went on field trips n such.

And for Huskystafford, I used to do a ton of tshirts with heat press. I used Createx Wicked Paints (never liked Createx Original Textile as they were too heavily pigmented for my liking even after reducing but I dont like spraying at 60psi as recommended lol). I sprayed at the highest PSI 30, and adjusted lower for finer details. I would heat set at 350 degrees for 20 seconds with parchment paper between heating iron and artwork. I still have a few shirts I did over 8 years ago and will post a pic but the colors are still vibrant to this day but I paint on dri-fit clothing. Hope this helps!

Sry, probably lack of my english. What do you mean with : between heating iron and artwork?

Dri fit is sintetic tshirt?

The heat press is like a clam shell. There’s a top that raises and smashes down on the bottom plate.

The heat plate is on the top section so I lay the shirt down on the bottom, make sure all the wrinkles are out, lay a sheet of parchment paper over your artwork and then press the top half down.

Hopefully that makes sense.

Yep it makes sense. I was confused with the word iron. Thank you.

Dri fit is sintetics material which is used for sport wear?

Yes the DriFit is the workout clothing, I think they’re 50/50 poly/cotton or something like that. Here’s a pic of a shirt I painted over 8 years ago for an 80’s themed party we went to and these pics were taken yesterday! Still holding up great!814A772D-4DF0-4789-B9A9-11A380181071.jpeg63A356E8-18BD-4B28-8E58-30AE859C0F7E.jpeg

Bon Jovi/Skid Row was the first concert I ever went to back in '88. I've seen Motley Crue twice and Poison once, but never Whitesnake. :( Queensryche on the Mindcrime tour blew my mind.

Ahhh, the memories....
