Large coverage airbrush or small paint gun

Hi folks! I'm mainly use an iwata eclipse, and I absolutely love it. Sometimes when I'm doing large pieces, it takes too long to cover certain areas. I don't know much about paint guns or larger airbrushes. I need something relatively inexpensive and double action is a must (not sure how that works with paint guns). I don't need anything too large, but at least double or triple the coverage of an eclipse. If anybody has any ideas or a place that can teach me a bit about paint guns that would be much appreciated. THANKS!

A Paasche vl double action will do it. Bit expensive though.

That depends also from your compressor setup. Small paintguns also mini hvlps already need a high air consumption that the compressor needs to deliver.

You really need something that produces a fan spray pattern for larger coverage. If you have a large enough compressor, a mini HVLP gun will do the trick. The Harbor Freight guns work fine for primers, sealers and base coats. Not so much for clear coats. If you're using a small airbrush compressor, then an airbrush with fan spray nozzle cap will work. The Paasche Talon has a fan spray cap that works pretty good. The Iwata Kustom TH is a trigger style airbrush with a fan cap that works great, but its very pricey. Fyi, I've been seeing these GSI Creos Mr Procon Boy airbrushes on Ebay and they're from Japan and look suspiciously like Iwata, but much cheaper. I haven't purchased one yet, so I can't speak for quality, but I figured I'd provide you the info on these. Here's a link to the one that's a clone of the Kustom TH.

For a lot of our bigger stuff we use hvlp guns , unfortunately I have only used the hardware store version but they work pretty good until you don't clean them.
