Light wood grain colors

I'm considering painting a guitar for a coworker and need a lil' help. He wants it to be blue with rips showing off the wood underneath. I've searched here and on youtube and can only find tutorials that show darker/stained woods, but nothing for the lighter wood grains. Has anyone done this, or can anyone help with the colors to use?

I use/have auto air and wicked paints.

Faux wood grain , Light sienna with then use just a touch of darker sienna of umber into that and make you grain pattern.
you can use different light colors depending on what type of wood you are trying to mimic.

Now that is some amazing work! Going to give it a trial run tomorrow. I'm also going to see if he would want to give a darker wood a try! Maybe like a mahogany type?!?

There are other places that show lighter woods like white pine , Bamboo Just have to do some searching,
Mainly I find the wood I am trying to do and search for that .
