Paint cup bubbler
I recently tightened up a nozzle a little too tight and it pulled the thread partly away causing bubbling etc on the cup.
I purchased a new nozzle, 0.23 I think it is, what's happening now, is that when press for air I doesn't seem the same force of air coming out, if I'm only pulling gently for fine lines it's ok but as soon as I pull all the way for more paint it splatters and seem restricted in some way.
I've stripped it and cleaned it all several times and nothing seems blocked, I still get a slight whistle too as if all of a sudden something is going clear , but it never does.
I use water added paints but I have used solvent and flushed through with thinners, all seem nice a clear then until I put paint in again.
Any ideas, before I lose it completely. :)

Being a brand new head unit , to me sound like either you have a defective one or a possible restriction in the air tube feed it.
If you think it is due to the nozzle being clogged try soaking the nozzle in either some restorer or denatured alcohol.

I'm curious did you replace the whole head unit or just nozzle?

Just the nozzle Cuda, I wondered whether I have the wrong size nozzle for the needle but if that was the case, I wouldn't have any control just as soon as you pull back a shed load paint would come out.

It does feel like a restriction somewhere but I can't find where, the most I'll do when stripping is the needle, nozzle, end cap and trigger, give it all a clean, it all seems clean with solvent thinners until I put paint in, illustration or etac, nothing thick, just gets splattered everywhere, sometimes no paint at all comes out with the trigger fully open. :/

That whistling tells me that the nozzle is too far back, I think because your old nozzle was so tightly placed that this has increased the distance your new nozzle can go in.

It's also possible that the new nozzle isn't seating properly due to thread damage, check that the space between nozzle and head is even all the way round.

Both of these issues can cause whistling as can dirt/paint in the space between and it's usually the stage before mild blow back/bubbling.

I've had the first problem myself and managed to fix it by adding a tiny amount of ptfe tape around front of the threads so that the nozzle sat slightly more forward.

Check out this article. Bubbles can have two causes: 1) an obstruction 2) leaking through air cap / nozzle. Since the nozzle is new, it is unlikely that there's an obstruction. If you say the thread is partly damaged, which is? In the airbrush or on the nozzle? Or both? Since the nozzle is new, I assume the thread in the airbrush is damaged. Try applying liquid packing on the nozzle before screwing it in the airbrush.

I had the same problem with the air flow and solved it by slightly loosening up where indicated by the arrow. Don't know if its meant to work like that but (for me at least) it solved the problem

why are you guessing if you have the proper nozzle?.. I use bees wax and heat up the nozzle a bit to get a REALLY good seal Nozzle only

Only the fact that I remember ordering the right one and taking out the packet to fit but didn't check the packaging to see if it is the correct size.

Whilst the kids were having breakfast I snuck off to the garage and stripped it down again, cleaned out the same things that I had before, the only thing different I found was a bit of Ptfe tape around the nozzle cap thread, maybe it was that stopping from not seating back far enough. Any way I'm relieved to say its working again, thanks guys, this is what the forums all about not JUST showing off your work but helping people with problems etc too.

Thanks everyone!!
