Well my new airbrush as arrived it is a HD 470 and it is a cheap one. This is my first airbrush and I can wait to push some paint through it this weekend when I took it out the box it was so dirty so I have cleaned it all up and now it is nice and clean
They all do mate. Unfortunately you get what you pay for with these things. Mine lasted a month ( and I clean my stuff religiously) it'll give you an idea as to whether you like airbrushing though. I found I loved it and invested in an iwata hp-cs and haven't used my cheap ones since (except for mass coverage of a candy etc)
Just holding the Iwata you can tell the difference in quality bud.
Hey Tryston, to answer your question first of all it has rubber o rings and will not handle urethane based paint, it will destroy the o rings rapidly, 2nd only clean the front half(tip, nozzle, and needle) try not to disassemble the back unless absolutely needed. 3rd be VERY CAREFULL with the tip, only finger snug not "tight" if you do its good bye to that tiny o ring-- do not use the wrench throw it in bottom of case and leave it there . lastly thin paint well and use only enough pressure to get consistant results, right now with my Velocity I am spraying @ 5 psi and paint thinned to skim milk consistency. Doing this should help stretch the life a bit then when you can save up a bit of cash buy something decent...you will understand once you switch. I wont tell you a particular brush because there are lots of good ones but if you buy Iwata, Badger, Harder & Steenbeck you cant go wrong. I personally purchased a Badger Velocity and it is wonderful (for me). GOOD LUCK TO YOU !
Cheers for the info I plan on using this one with water based acrylics i really do appreciate the info on cleaning it and the tip info i will be really careful with it
