haha the first one I grew after it fruited my gf was so excited, she went to water it and it had a huge bite out of the side of it, I still tease her that the bite was around the shape of her mouth:laugh: I have no idea what took a bite out of it to this day

I just finished repotting my main jade tree. The rest of the year it will get lots of fertilizer and watered every 3 days to let this one fill back in. I took alot off of it to get more trees. This one is the biggest jade i have and is around 20 years old.

This is a pine im working on today. Taking each branch down to 2 buds and taking the needles off the bottom of each branch. I will have to do this every month during the growing season as this pine is a fast grower. This fall i will make branch selection and start the raminficaction on the branches to get shorter needles.

Cut it back the leaves will get smaller. Cut each branch back to 2 leaves. That has a nice trunk with good taper.

Your welcome just be sure to leave 2 leaves. If branches only have one leaf dont cut and leave about a 1/8 inch stub before the leaf you cut back to. Doing this makes the tree go into survival mode and produce more buds. When it does that they will be smaller. Oh and dont fertilize for 1 month after the cut.

Okay. I did it I always feel so bad when I cut away perfectly healthy leaves. Thanks for the heads-up about not fertilizing.

Only do this 1 time per growing season. Your tree will thank you for it.

My neighbor at my warehouse is a landscape designer, gave me this twig the gf planted, it's starting to take off, 2nd pic is our coral/sponge garden, this use to be full of dirt and cigarette butts when we first moved in, looks much better now.
3rd pic is my downstairs neighbor's bonsai trees, he inherited them from the guy across the street when he pasted away, they were falling in despair when he got them and a couple didn't make it, these ones are doing pretty good now .
