So I'm going to be using neon colors, I read that they loose there neon look..how long does it take to loose there neon look and would outting clear coat over it deal and save the look?

If not, is there any other close options to neon that I could use? Thanks!

Which brand and type of Neon are you using?
What fades the color is UV so a good 2 k UV protective clear coat will make it last a fair amount of time.
Also is this for an effect like showing a neon light on a Vegas sign,

Nope just trying to have the neon looking color! Not really a bright Vegas glow!!! And I use a 2k clear anyways so that's good!! And it won't be seeing much sunlight! It's an indoor product!

And I was going to pick up Createx possibly or the other brand at hobby lobby, forgot what it's called

For more versatility go with Wicked over the basic Createx. Wicked is good I just about anything but glass.

Agreed, Wicked is the way to go. I have had several projects that are the NEONs, and every time, I inform the customer, that it will/can fade over time, even with the automotive clear coat.....last project was 4 yrs ago, and I personally know the guy, and he says all is fine, no fading at all. I have painted motorcycles, mailboxes, and (now) banshee racing hoods, made out of fiber glass.

I agree with Wicked. They are lighfast. And while some colours seem more prone to fading than others, I have never had any problems down the line with Wicked. Having said that, I have never used their neon colours, but I can't imagine they would be diferent.
