Welcome to the forum from NH.
Just as a warning, many people start just like you, and become addicted. Lol! Like you many of us start with a lesser brand airbrush just to "try" it out. I know I did. I found this forum and others, along with the Airbrush tutor YouTube vids because of it. I was trying to learn everything I could, still am, a year later. One of the first thing I learned was to not start with an opaque airbrush paint, it can be a pain in the butt, opaques get tip dry bad. This will be something to get used to, especially if you start with water based paint.
Other thing I learned pretty quick was that my cheap types out brush, was just that, cheap for a reason. I think I got my first Badger Patriot about 1 month in. Some can get the cheap stuff to work, some can not, I learned that through the forums and ended up with the Patriot.
If you have a Michael's or Hobby Lobby near by, get on line and find a coupon, both stores stock airbrush paints. If its Hobby Lobby they will probably have a hose to fit your brush to try it out. I would look for either Wicked paint or Spectratex to start with, depends if one of those stores is near you, and which one.
Enjoy the road to airbrush awareness.
