Air-Valve Autobot!
Hey BigRed welcome to the forum, I must say your doing great so far. Airbrushing in general is not a speedy process, apart from the tshirt painters who have to get their work done quickly isn't something you do fast. A quick sketch maybe, but usually a few hours on a project. Patience will come with time, as you take on more complicated projects the time for painting becomes longer too, your patience and understanding extend and it becomes normal. When you first start it's natural to want instant results. Nothing wrong with that, i was the same and so were many others but airbrushing has a big learning curve so try to slow things down a bit and it will help a lot. I normally plan for about 5 to 10 hours on a painting, could be longer, could be shorter.
Being colour blind might hinder mixing but you can still do it as you will know what a blue looks like to you for instance. Did you get the colour wheel with the paint? If you did they are adjusted specifically to those paints, use them to find the colour you want and from there it will indicate what colours you need to mix together. You should be able to get somewhere close and then from there you can tweak the colour.
I have just got my set of Airbrush Series paints so I will be giving them a thorough going over in the next few days. I gave them a quick test through my 0.12 DeVilbiss Super63 and they sprayed straight out of the bottle.
More tests to do and have planned a couple of paintings with them. Will do a new thread on them once i start.
SO welcome to our great forum, hope you stay with us a while.
