hello my name is peter im from Ohio I havent airbrushed before. Ive been a fine artist all my life mostley pencil. I wanted to furhter my skills by learning to airbrush. I bought an Iwata eclipse a while ago and actualy i havent used it much do to all the things that are going on right now. but I wanted to say hi and if anyone has any questions regarding drawing i can help. althogh from what i understand alot of airbrush artist trace or project there image for correct mapping which makes alot of sense.. so i cant imagine anyone would need help with drawing skills... lol the backgroud i come from in pencil drawing that was a big no no but much easier.. =)

Hi Peter, welcome from Calgary. I would love to see your work and I always admired someone who could draw from scratch. The nice thing about being able to draw is that you can customize whatever you want.

Hi Peter, welcome from the UK. I think many people would like to take you up on any drawing tips you may have. So please feel fee to post away! I can draw, but not to fine art standard by a long chalk, and would welcome any info you may have. It's true that with computers, projectors etc, you don't need to be able to draw as such, but I think it definately helps with understanding things such as tone and shading, and many of the skills would be transferable. Also I like to sketch out ideas when I'm trying to create original designs, so for me, and I'm sure many others your advice would be appreciated.
There are many talented artists here who will be happy to help out with any ABing questions you have, and don't forget to use the search box as someone may have asked/answered it before, and then you won't have to wait for a reply, although to be honest it doesn't take long. Good luck!

thanks.. yea I have been drawing all my life. i dont have a whole lot of work. Drawing from scratch takes alot of time and i am getting married in a few months. the only thing i have on the computer is a portrait i drew of Maynard James Kennan the lead vocals for tool and a Perfect circle. I drew it starting with lines at the head and chin and went from there.. took about 3 days.. well working 12 hours a day thogh lol once i start somthin its hard for me to quit.. its actualy the picture i used for the avatar but il upload it here if your interested.

oh my goodness thats good.....welcome to the forum peter....I seriously admire anybody that can draw, especially to your standard......I look forward to string what you end up doing with an airbrush.....I think the most difficult thing for you will be not having tactile feedback like you do when a pencil touches ther paper

Welcome on board Peter, it's always great to have new artists join, that drawing is outstanding and openly welcome any help with drawing from yourself and likewise i hope we can all help you on your airbrushing journey, look forward to seeing more of your work:)

Hi Peter, your drawing is awesome. Welcome to the forum. When I draw something for one of my projects, i'll be sure to ask your advice and opinion first. I'm new to the airbrush too, but you joined the best forum there is. Everyone here are so helpful and full of information. Your in the right place for artists and airbrushing.

I did some practice yesterday. Itook a photo i liked and converted it to lines and filled in the shades with the airbrush. I was mosltey trying to get the shades where i wanted and i didnt do as bad as i thaught i was going to which has given me a ton of confidence. I think that if I cap my paints to certian shades It will relate more to drawing and I'l have an easier time with it. Then once im in a routine and able to use the brush beter il start learning other ways of painting

and I really appreciate all the nice comments you guys are really getting me motivated to be a better artist. =)

Hi Peter,

Welcome from the UK.

Great sketches ... I love a good pencil drawing and they are really good. Sure you will have no problems transfering your skills!
