Opaque vs Transparent paints

What is the difference between both (Opaque VS Transparent)?

Is it possible to obtain transparent paint by adding some medium to dilute the pigments?

All my paints are opaque Golden High Flow.

In very simple terms:
Opaque will give full colour saturation in two or three layers and it won’t get any darker.
transparent will get darker the more layers you do

You can make transparent opaque - a bit of opaque white will work but be careful it doesn’t change the colour (to much white to trans red will give red) but you can’t make Opaque transparent

I’d recommend buy what you need (opaque/transparent) you’ll have less headache
