Optimal hose length/ moisture trap set-up?

Just starting out, and I figure I should start with best set-ups I can so what should I be looking for for hose length...ive been told try to get around 20ft. Is that correct? I have a compressor with a 3 gal tank. Where is the best location for the moisture trap? any advice would be great. thanks

Hi Central, im not sure about the perfect settings. But i have my compressor right next to where i paint and i only have a hose that is around 10 feet long. My pressure regulator with included water trap is right attached on the
compressor. Then the hose to the airbrush and in front of the airbrush its best to use another small watertrap. Cause it can still happend that some water is building up inside the hose too.
