    Hello All,

First of all I wanted to say thank you to all of you. This forum in particular has made my journey with the Iwata Micron CM-C Plus an enjoyable one. I had alot of problems for a long time with tip dry but luckily I found this place and ordered Golden High Flow paints and have had great luck using Iwata Flow Improver with a paint to medium ratio of averagely 1 drop of paint to 3 drops of medium. My trouble is as this thins it quite a bit and deletes the problem of dry tip I feel like it takes far too many layers to build up a strong coat on my miniatures. Does anyone have any advice on this? I run the psi at around idk 30 and control it with the MAC valve pressure dialed in so I'm spraying at real low psi generally. I would like to be able to put a strong layer of paint on the mini. After idk I'd expect 1-3 coats? Is this unreasonable? Please let me know. I apologize for the length. Thank you all!

Yes it is. The pigment is what gives the colour and too much pigment at the wrong pressure clogs the nozzle. So you can either up the pressure, use thicker paint and lose some control and paint less layers or do what you are currently doing. You can always just use a gun with a bigger nozzle. It will allow for thicker paint. Use it to lay down the base colours and use the Micron for the detail.

Lol, indeed. I figured that the paint was working as intended regarding my usage and technique but the weird thing is I base coat sprayed some green creatures with the fluorescent greena and those base layers laid down fine and it took like 3 coats and it was quick and easy. I understandrfr8m what I've read here that every color is different it's just it was over a black primer undercoat and I didn't expect it to lie down in it so well so I was just wondering if other colors would work like that or if I was just lucky lol.

Undercoating aka Base coat can determine how a color will react when sprayed over it. Color bled may also happen on a like paints mainly due to it causing the paint under neath it to re-activate . I have many small spray card half based in black and the other half white and a few I even have silver and gold as the base color with different colors sprayed over them.
Base color can brighten the color or darken it .

Oh I did forget to add I have some gray based being it is neutral between black and white. But mainly it is just having a thought and trying it. Somethings in life you just stumble upon other things hit ya in the head but as long as you keep trying new things and learning from what doesn't work then life is simple.

Your comments literally made my iwata micron experience better. I still honestly think the opacity of my paint isnt as strong as it could be and I have alot of trouble drawing straight lines and keeping "within the lines" of small detail but I feel maybe that just comes with practice. Idk

I use golden paints high flow! I use Vallejo flow improver as a medium which surprised me in regards to how well it worked as a medium with it.

I have noticed while not stated on the bottle some od the Golden high flow color seem transparent ,but tge Golden fluid of the same color isn't. So I will sometimea use the foleb fluid colors instead.I just reduce them with a 25%alcohol 75%water mix and had not issue using it in my micron
