You just quoted my wife
Its OK to post a WIP is it? LOL, forgot the rules..Still working on mine but wasn't sure if OK to show it?
Yes you can post WIP as long as you do not tell who it goes to .
Today I have installed a mailbox in my house , just to receive my paintpal card !!!
I posted my Paint pal card last Monday and was told a minimum of 5 days to get there, it's seven now, so fingers crossed it gets there soon.
my paint pal has arrived
the smallest picture I can take on my camera is 2.5 mega pixels, but when I try and upload it say's an error has ocurred and the file size is too large.
Not sure what to do!!
Use a program that can resize your image. Here at work I use Microsoft office 2010 image editor. At how I use Nero image editor.
But there are lots of programs that can resize it.
I use 1600x1200 pixels for my resized size
Or you can take your camera out of full RAW size and set it to only take pictures that are 1600x1200 which either way will make the image file about 600k
I got photoshop. I'll have a play around in there.
@jacksparrow or you can just open with "paint" and then immediately save it as jpeg and it will take it down to around 1mb...... if you need to go further just crop that copy a lil bit
All sorted now, thx guys, i'd still be here next year working it out !!
Open it in photoshop and save it as JPG , in the save windows you have a slide to change the quality , in the right side it will show the size of that file when saved
…or, if you don't want to degrade the quality by compressing it any further, try changing the image dimensions to something smaller; that way you can maintain the quality you want and it can still be within the recommended upload file size…just saying!
While we are talking Photo's, I down loaded Gimp2 but I can't convert the pictures back to Jpeg? is there way?
@jacksparrow Open PhotoShop, open your image, click on 'Image' (top menu), click on 'Image Size'; a new window will open and where is says 'Width and Height' change the 'Width' option to something like 7 (inches). It will give you the new file size at the top of that window…if its now the size you were looking for, click 'Ok'. Job done.
@Oddball Have you tried clicking 'Save As', as opposed to 'Save'…just a thought, I don't use Gimp but the rules are the same with most of these imaging editing programs.
Is it saved as a 'Gimp' file format? Try Right-Clicking once on your image (outside of Gimp) and choose 'Open With', then choose another program other than Gimp and it should load it, then save it as a '.jpg'.
No need to crop it, in paint you can also resize it, if you resize to say 80% it would be around 80% of the bytes, this way you don't lose any of the photo
Sorted the Gimp to jpeg thing, you have to "Export" the file .....
My paint pal is going out tomorrow . I had to force myself to paint it . Just not interested in airbrushing anymore
nothing like leaving it late huh ferret!
