Painting for 2023

Haven't done an awful lot recently but was asked to do a picture of a Porsche GT 3 by my son, so started it today. A3 on poster board with Golden high flow.

I printed the picture to use as a guide and stencil,, transferring the image and details onto the poster board using graphite paper. I used a fine marker to fill in some of the very sharp details.

I'll do the picture in 3 lots, the background, the car and the aircraft, for the geeks you will recognise this as a Lockheed C-130J model Hercules.

So todays progress, playing with some stencils to get cloud shapes... Not really as lifelike as I'd like but I learned a few cloud things! I think I can do some more light erasing to lighten the lower clouds more. Oh and it is an A3 size.

A little progress today - all with carbon black. Don't get to use that often. I added a little blue to darken the tone on the black.

Killing it so far ,I like the plane in the background gives it a great perspective to the car
