Pink Candy

A buddy of mine showed his daughter a fishing rod I made for him and now she wants one. She wants pink and teal. The teal candy isn't a big deal but Im trying to figure out how to get pink. Ive tried going over pearl white with 2.0 Sunset Magenta and by the time I get good coverage its not really pink. Is there a good pink candy out there, or a way to get a good pink candy?

The only suggestion I might have is to start with a light pink base. Then you could try light coats of candy over that. You could even create the base color using the same candy red. This is where spray outs are your best friend...lollollol

Edit...the more I think about it, the more I am going to play with this sometime.....

wouldn't using a darker color than white make the finished color darker, or am I miss thinking that? I don't have any pink but I could easily make a light pink. I didn't think about using the candy as a base color, I will have to give that a try.

The Sparklescent and Metallic range from Autoair have some great colours. Check out Pearlized Magenta and Metallic Rose.

I have planned on adding some of the Hot Rod sparkle too it, but that is a conversation for another day, as I have a lot of questions about that stuff.

I have been looking at that, I was hoping someone had some experience with that color that could comment on it. The picture on coasts site on my monitor its tough to tell how the color actually looks.
There is the Barbie Jeep here in my town that is silver base with 4 layers of the pink candy on it and the more layers makes it a deep rich hot pink.
I spoke with the guy who painted it and he said he did about 6 test panels all with silver base but with different layers of the pink candy on it until he got the Pink she wanted.
