Plotter Stand

On topic, Vladimir how's your blades progression looking so far?

Blade holders;) Blades are OK:)
Haven't done literally nothing to the date. I fully occupied with some other interesting things for ABing.
I know what to do, the thing I needed was to get more data on the holder sliding base diameters. You've provided some help. It would be great from other of the forum members to measure the thing for me as you did (OK, your old man:)). I'd have more data for the decision making. It would be even just great if someone would make the measurement of very expensive pro plotters, again the measurement of the blade holder bottom diameter.

Anyway, I'll make drawings for the specialist to cut off with the material I have in my mind the blade holder body. Only need to buy some tools. I have full understanding what I need and what to do. So it will be done:)

what materials are you planning to use?

Only one is in my mind, it's stainless steel. One thing I think about whether to harden it or not. I think it will work great even without the hardening. I'll just polish the bottom ring, the working (sliding) area of the holder.
Do you plan to put 4x rockets thrusters on those blade holders so they can push enough power? -.-

Why not?lol
When I'll be cutting aluminum or steel foil my max 750 g down force can't do that, I think. Concerning rocket parts, they aren't cheap, so it's better to use pulse explosions combined with the point where the blade touches the surface at the start of every cut. Need to think over making the changes to the software. But it's a secret for now. Do not tell this to anyone!:lipssealed:

i wouldn't be surprised if you would put some rocket parts :D

Searching for another photo I've found the one I've mentioned about what kind of stencil can be be made with the Dremel.
That's what I've tried to do somehow and not going to continue with it, cause one need tons of the patience and time to do this manually:) So much that it's cheaper to buy one:D

The holder is ready. Stainless steel.
The size is just right for the actual cutting strip. Violet holder is original one that came with the machine. Mine has bigger area of contact and polished body, I kept these things in mind when planning the design. Bottom of the holder is polished as other body. The part of the holder which has contact with metal part of the carriage is sanded for better contact.
Pro holders (expensive holders) seem to have big foot, so I did that to mine.
The thing is also improved internally, compared to the original one.

Haven't cut anything yet, but hope new holder will work better than original one. I expect more professional results. The thing I though of when doing this was better precision of cuts. I'm not saying this cutter isn't precise, but why not to have better things?:)
The result of the holder body is just what I expected to get. Waiting for the test cut. I hope it will be as good as the holder itself.

@huskystafford thanx for your measurements! It's always good to have as much info as possible for making the decision.

Question to all of you users of the plotter. How many blade holders with blades installed and adjusted do you find to be convenient to have? How many different types of the media do you cut? Let's say five paint masks, two mylars, 650 viyil etc.
I need to decide for how many blade holders I should make the holder, so they would always be ready to cut and stay organized.

your welcome for measurements. I am glad I can help someone on this forum :)

I have installed 2 blades right now. I have option for 2 blades at the same time. I use one for mylar, the second one for paper(making mask for my tests and when I am practising stuff). Then I have another blade holder for vinyl''original one'', and also one blade holder for mylar which is just waiting, I never use that one. It got different blade angle, so I still need to put other knifes inside or I need new material for that blade holder :) I will probably use it for vinyl, when original one will be busted, cause I have bunch of spare blades.
