Scaling up images.

Question on the best and cheapest way to enlarge a picture. As I am going to be doing an image on a bedroom wall and I don't have a projector and finances won't allow for it, is it best to just do the old school method of drawing squares on an image then draw the same lines scaled up on the wall and sketch out as I see it?

Yes buddy, without a doubt the best, non-projector way. Scale it up and sketch each square in turn!

The other option is if you have a printer you can figure out how big you want it and use a program called TileMage image splitter.

it will allow you to divide up the image into as many pieces that you need.
Sometimes it is a lot faster then trying to sketch it out.

There's also a free programme calle BigPic that will split an image up into A4 sheets

Nice thanks guys, will look into it.

I guess the next question is, once I have put the puzzle together of pieces of a4 paper together, do I then use application tape over the top and mark it out then put the application tape directly onto the wall? I'll be using it as a stencil/mask, cutting out the necessary pieces as I go.

Super cheap option - enlarge the image on your computer to the desired sized, and trace it straight off the screen.
