Sotar 2020 vs 2020 slim.

Is there a difference in distance between the trigger and needle on the sotar 2020 slim? Im thinking of buying a slim and a medium conversion kit for my sotat with cut so i can use just my sotars for everything. I havent seen another brush with a trigger as close to the needle as the sotar but something tells me the trigger may be a little further away on the slim. Am i right?

The original Sotars were ment to be a high end product. They probably didn't take off like they hoped. So they lowered the tolerances to make for cheaper faster production.

The legacy parts from that era allow you to convert any 100/150 airbrush into a Sotar equivalent.

Not useful if you want to keep that trigger distance. But if you have any old favorites that you want to upgrade it is an option. Although you may need to get krome nozzles and needles to fit inside of the old style bodies and handles.

A fun feature since parts for Badgers can be had for so cheap compared to companies like Iwata.

It appears that they are the same but after bringing it into photo shop and drawing some lines to compare they are actually quite different. The normal sotar with the small cup has the shortest distance between the trigger and needle. The slim is slightly longer and the v is longest distance. I dont see why they moved the trigger back after removing the cup, i would have brought it even closer. The difference isnt noticeable by eye but it is there.

To me, between the 2 there isn't really that much of a difference accuracy wise, but I would think the bigger Cup may get in the way a bit more! It also depends on how you hold the brush in use, the cups really shouldn't impair accuracy in normal use.
