Hello, I am usually forgetting to make some pictures during painting, however this one I made specially for airbrushers in my country, so I just translated it and perhaps it become interesting for you ;)
I wanted to create wood grain, then embedded writing and because it could be too boring, I decided to add a spider.
The wood texture I made twice, because the first one became too dark for me.

    So let's start with preparation:
I used createx wicked colors - yellow, red and blue (by mixing I got brown) and transparent base. For spider I used white, black, yellow and red (mixing last two I got orange).
My guns are Iwata HP-B plus for details and HP-C plus for larger areas.
I used a small sponge from kitchen, stencil for letters and for spider.
And I painted on aluminium plate (licence number 520x110 mm), which was already coated by white color. I prepared the surface by scotch-brite and cleaned.

    Step1:
Spraying complete plate by yellow, with not very visible strips in direction of grain (in my case along the length of that plate).

    Step2:
I added a few drops of red and one drop blue in gun, by mixing it makes brown color. I sprayed it on piece of paper and then wiped it by edge of the small sponge.

    Step3:
I started to create threads on plate applying the paint on sponge very gently with long strokes, from left to the right and opposite and you can increase the pressure to avoid heavy load of paint. The strokes doesn't need to be perfectly straight. If you have problem to make thin grain, try to reduce the paint.
Just try not to cross the created threads and continue till the area isn't full.

    Step4:
For darker color I added again a few drops of red and one drop of blue. I sprayed paint lightly on created threads to highlight them.

    The result looked very well
    [IMG]

    Step5:
Again I added drops of red and one of blue and I used it just to create some darker places.
Here I realized that it doesn't go out as I wanted and there were too big differences. But I continued with painting the letters by again darker color mixed with transparent base. Here I missed pictures. However to save the painting I tried to use darker color with transparent base on whole painting. It becomes better, but the letters became too dark, so I decide to start again from beginning :(

    The story continues...

    So let's start again!
    Step1:
yellow base with some light strips
    [IMG]
    Step2:
This time I applied brown color on borders
    [IMG]
    Step3:
    Applying the brown by sponge
    [IMG]
    Step4:
    Applying darker brown by gun
    [IMG]
    Step5:
Applying another darker brown and stop with darkness!

    Step6:
Painting the letters with darker brown mixed with transparent base. Here I put more paint specially in place of shadow - top left corner.

    Step7:
I printed the picture of spider on common paper and cut the external outlines.

    Step8:
I applied white color as base for spider painting.

    Step9:
I started to paint every link of leg, step by step, by reduced black color.

    Step10:
    I continued with body
    [IMG]
    Step11:
I finished with stencil, it is time to start by hand. I used reduced black for hair.

    Step12:
Then I painted also white hair and yellow. It wasn't very nice, however the bad places should be covered later by black.

    Step13:
    I added orange color
    [IMG]

    Step14:
Time to finish all with black color. And I also used transparent black to make shadows under spider. With transparent black I also added shadow to the letters - on top left corners.

And this the final painting :whistling:

Really nice job on the woodgrain and the spider is a great addition. Next to skulls, who doesn't love a good looking spider. Thank you for sharing the step by step...
