    Hello
Quick question, does anybody here that uses createx illustration paints strain them?
If so how do you go about it, is it a case of just using a small part of the wifes tights she won’t miss will surfice or is there better ways to do it?
I did search the forum but couldn’t find anything that answered my question directly.
    Thanks in advance

Pretty much yeh. A small square over the top of the bottle and screw the cap over it. I have also used the filter bits from paper automotive filters. Replace them every so often as they do sometimes get blocked up.

I bought a pack of 150 Micron Paint Strainers and pour from the mixing cup through those into the airbrush. They’re obviously a bit big, so I usually cut them down with a knife first.

    Ok Lee thanks

I think thats a massive part of issues I have which I presume is tip dry.
Half the time i clean the tip and the nozzle gap but it still won’t flow nice so i’ll try it too see if it improves.
It’s only really causing me massive hassle with close up work even with reduced paint so was wondering if that could be the issue as i currently don’t strain.

I’m pretty sure I bought them from eBay. I don’t remember exactly, but a pack of 100 didn’t cost much at all.

I’m not sure, we didn’t strain it during the class but under time constraint so he may when he paints for himself.

He doesn't paint for himself, he paints for whole world and their dog.:)

I always strain my paints, I use the little square of pantyhose method, and if I have to mix colours I usually transfer the mixed colour to an an empty bottle so I can strain that too, although since I don't have a wife now I have to use my own pantieslol

Tip: Stay away from fishnets, and don't ask how I know thato_O

It doesn't always need it, a new bottle of paint would normally be fine but a bottle that has been opened and closed several times can build up dried paint around the sides and neck of the bottle, this dried paint can become loose and end up in your airbrush and cause clogging, I do it always because it only takes a few seconds to prepare each bottle and it gives me peace of mind wether it needs it or not, if your not having problems with your paint you dont need to do it.

I’m not going to lie she probably wouldn’t bat an eyelid.
She expects behaviour a little left field of the norm.
It’s exactly the reason she married me lol
