Proceeding with caution I’m really struggling with my current glasses and have new ones arriving any day, I’m amazed I haven’t triggered a migraine yet

Colour matched a base tone for the overall yellow, which I now know is nowhere near yellow, it’s more of a dirty ochre colour, - again, this painting is teaching more than I ever thought regarding colour choice and the power of value to create luminance.
I can feel a whole new world of discovery this year
I wanted to get a section near finished to see if the effort will be worth it, personally I feel like I can get close if I take my time and not get too excited.
I made the “yellow” by mixing yellow, red violet, it was too yellow, so I added some violet, and it was still too yellow, but also felt lemony so I added some blue violet, ( 2 drops at a time into a plastic shot cup that was around a 6th full), this time it got close but still too yellow, so back to violet and I felt like I was close enough to use a base colour with the intention of applying transparent tints later

Got my new glasses. Wow that makes a nice difference had a cortisone injection into my inguinal nerve to help give some relief from this relentless pain! It’s kind of worked thank God
Now I can see I feel more confident to push on and make some decisions very little paint applied to the forehead and it’s almost at value, so thin paints required

With sight, comes a lot more confidence sped up to my normal speed again!
Using the same paints I’ve mixed. It’s more of the same. Cracks first then texture then shape,

Yeah sorry about that, I have sped up like x400% now. I couldn’t actually focus before….

I guess this is the hardest part, and it’s a slow building process and bloody stressful the hardest smile to paint I believe
Lucky you can adjust with this system, when I check it tomorrow with fresh eyes
It’s really much of the same process on repeat.
