US Art supply airbrush paint

.
Ive not used the US art supply paints but I've often thought about trying them. The reason I havent is because they are expensive. Yep, in the end they are expensive. (especially since i make my reducer for a couple dollars a gallon)
I do use homemade reducer. it works great with the us art product.. Thank you for your recomendations. I do want to try erasing/scatching method so I may buy some comart to try. I will still use this Us art stuff to as its cheap and I WASTE alot of paint lol

here are some choices people use. Probably you will get more suggestions. I only know wicked so I am not a big help here.
My 2 Cents. Husky has listed the common airbrush paints here and it’s a great list. Each of us have our preferences, but these tend to be the common ones for a reason, they’re great and usually easy to get hold of.
The only addition I would make is Comart. It is often recommended as a good paint to start with.

You can get Com-Art from several US places. Coast Airbrush, "Richard" (website profanity filter edits "D" - "I" - "C" - "K" ) Blick Art supplies, or Dixie airbrushing. Blick's has the largest selection, but is slightly more expensive. I have used them because they ship much faster to NY than Coast does. But a good start set of Com-Art can be had at Hobby Lobby. Use their 40% off coupon introductory coupon and that starter set can be yours for less than $20.
I've heard that E'TAC is also very good and easy to use as well.

I was meaning USart is often expensive or at least just as costly as wicked in the end.
Wicked $5-6 2oz. bottle = 6 sprayable ounces minimum.
USart $2-$2.50 1oz. bottle = 2 sprayable ounces

This is why ive never pulled the trigger on it. It actually costs just as much as name brand in most cases. Though from experience with tcp's other products I dont doubt that its probably pretty close in quality.

I save my CI for detail work because it shines there, but i find no reason to use it for the bulk of the painting.
Yep im a cheap bastard :)
