White on black t-shirt

I have tried a few times to put white paint on a dark or black textile. I do not get the shiny white that I want. In a contrary I would describe it as dull grey.
For the latest attempt I primed a tshirt with createx 5601 transparent base, 2 coats and heatset with iron. Then sprayed at 50 psi, 0.5 needle, with wicked detail white. However, I have tried with standard opaqe too. But without getting the desired sun-beam-in-the-eye white appearence. Any ideas?

Aah! I found a similar thread...

Any suggestions beyond that?

I build my white. I don't count how many passes. I wait between passes so it is dried. It never looks like real white, until I heat seat it. You can also use hair drier in one hand and in other airbrush. With hot air you hit the color in the air which you spray on tshirt. This should help with drying in the air before it hits the tshirt, so white is building faster.

Thank you! I feel more comfy on how to progress now! True, the detail white (used in this case) is a bit transparent, but like I said I tried also opaque white. I think it comes down to careful prepping the fabric and building white with many layers. Letting it dry, and heat-setting. No cut corners. Btw I like the hair-dryer idea!
