Wouldn't it be nice...

Wouldn't it be nice if AB makers got together and made a "standardized" set of parts.. needles, nozzles ect. They are all very close in design and concept, so it would be possible. Then all you have to worry about is the quality of the parts you buy.

That's way too easy, plus all the different companies would end up in a price war trying to flog the spares for them, if all parts were interchangeable, people would be buying form the cheapest company and the rest would probably go bust.

However, if you chose a particular brand and stuck with it, they generally have models which can take the same parts as other models, so if you had two or three compatible models one full set of spares would suffice.

Yup just like cars and everything else. You have to remember they make this stuff to get rich, not to appease customers. However a lot of the Japanese parts are interchangeable like the nozzles and needles.

Look at Harder and Steenbeck. The needles and nozzles are the same from the bottom of the range Ultra to the top end Infinity CR+. But it would be great if there was some kind of standard thing with some manufacturers making certain items exclusively like certain trigger shapes or cup sizes.

What you're describing would be convenient, but what would set each manufacturer apart? Like André said, H&S has come the closest to what you are describing with making all of their own parts universal with just about every brush they design.
