Iwata Eclipse HP-CS remove needle

Is it ok to pull the needle out the back of the brush for cleaning, wont this drag dry paint through the packing seal , main tube etc. or is this not an issue ?
or pull t out front , (after removing nozzle etc)

Rinse it through first then pull the needle out and clean it and flush it through without the needle in, the packing seal should do its job and keep the paint where it needs to be

Like Kingpin mentioned. Rinse and flush the color cup out really good then you can remove the needle. You can also stick a wet cotton swab in the cup where the needle goes through and give the needle a spin if there is excess paint stuck on the needle.

thanks guys. one last (well most probably not last ) question. should i lube my needle before use. this is brand new Iwata Eclips HP-CS never used.

Some do, some don't, I don't tend to normally, sometimes on an older brush just to help the seal a bit. a dab of lube doesn't hurt now and then
