Low PSI for detail?

I have read of a few instances where people drop the psi to 8 - 10 to get fine details? is this a common practice? I gave it a quick go and realized that I didn't have my paint reduced enough for it to flow properly. So I want to know if it is worthwhile to continue playing with low psi settings or should I continue practicing at normal psi settings?

(Currently using 25 - 35 psi with Wicked paints through an Iwata Eclipse 0.35mm)

If your new 25 to 35 and minor reduction with the eclipse will be great.. you can worry about psi and reduction as you progress concentrate on control and having fun.. That said as Andre stated yes Reduction and psi are part of the deal
