H&S 2024 Line

I made a deal to receive one of these brushes on Sept 9th (had to go back and look because I couldn't remember when it was). I have not asked about when it will be here, simply because I know it will get here, when they get it here.

So demure so mindful 😅

I'm sure everyone's moved on from this Saga. But the latest update is basically a non-update:

Not moved on per se, just distracted from it by stuff that's causing me more stress. Being out on jury service for 3 weeks has left me with a pile of crap to deal with.

Where was that posted?

That was an email in reply to my order inquiry I sent on Sept 27th.

Its not really the wait that bothers me - I basically started this thread almost a year ago because of my excitement for the 2024 line (the Infinity in particular). My main issue is I've now committed money and the goal line keeps shifting causing undue stress.

I know they're a good company, they've faced some unexpected challenges, but if I'm being fair, they launched this too early and without inventory ready to meet the demand. I've debated just canceling my order, though I know that will probably add 6mo-1year to the wait potentially.

Much like you, I have a lot of other stressors in my life and, in part, for me, buying something awesome like a new airbrush is a tool, but also a distraction from the other issues going on. When my distraction also becomes a source of stress, it's the easiest thing to walk away from to reduce some of the stress.

Nah, I get it - I think it looks as if they've hyped it very effectively and perhaps been caught out with the demand they've managed to generated. Add to that the general fun of machining titanium (and possible supply issues - my sources for inexpensive Ti dropped when Russia invaded Ukraine), coupled with power issues giving machinists heebie-jeebies and it makes things fraught. Even with the best contingency planning going.

I've got the Evo (and a few others thanks to this place....), I can still use that if & when I have time, without the lack of an Infinity particularly coming to the fore. Could just be cognitive dissonance, but I'm not allowing it to get through to me. I think.

It would be nice if we had a way to ease your airbrush stress but there is not much we can do, if your heart is set on it then perhaps try to look on the bright side that you will have one so you dont spoil the experience for yourself of having one.

All i can suggest is you buy some more airbrushes in the meantime to distract you from the infinity and paint!

I did this - lol. I bought an eclipse takumi and it's so freaking good. That's, in part, like "why am I spending $400 on this H&S again?".

I'll be the first to admit my skills are no where near good enough to be stressing over a tool I don't have yet. If anything, it's because it's an impractical purchase I know I don't need, the delay has given me too much time to confirm I really don't need it after all. 😆

😂😂 i can see how that could happen. Perhaps if you bought one in a year or 2 after the back log is clear you would look on the experience with fresh perspective and enjoy it when you get it. Maybe spend the 400 on another iwata for now!

Now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure I bought the two evolution 2024s to fill the gap of waiting for the Infinity 2024 as well. 😆

I didn't know there was a news letter! I joined this forum because i was trying to find someone to make me a custom Grafo pressure fit cup connector (for iwata brush cups). I kinda forgot about that. Hopefully the newsletter covers how to get one of those made. 😅
